Obituary of Maureen Alescio

Maureen Toohey Alescio, 53, of Jackson Ave., died Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at Albany Medical Center. Maureen was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Thomas L. and Betty Walsdorf Toohey, Jr. She was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and Schenectady County Community College. For several years she worked at Jardine Insurance Co. as a customer service representative. Maureen will always be remembered as a kind, caring, compassionate and loving person to all who knew her. She loved being with people and social gatherings. She is survived by two children, William Toohey and Kelly Alescio; her mother, Betty Toohey; four grandchildren, Thomas Michael and Deonna Lynn Toohey, Marvin Hill and Jadon Perry; three siblings, Kathy Lynch, Thomas Toohey and Michael Toohey; several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Thomas L. Toohey, Jr. and her grandson, Tyler Toohey. Funeral service Saturday morning 10:15 from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 11 o'clock at St. Joseph's Church (State and Lafayette St.) where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Callling hours Saturday morning 8:45 to 10:15 at the funeral home. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.
