Obituary of Joseph Cernik SR

Ballston Lake - Joseph E. Cernik Sr., 77, of Lazur Rd., formerly of Church Rd., Glenville, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at home. Joe was born and educated in Schenectady, the son of Frank and Jennie Cernik. He was a US Army veteran and had worked for many years with Local 10 in Albany as an operating engineer, retiring several years ago. Joe was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn Woodrow Cernik, in 2008. He is survived by two sons, Joseph E. Cernik Jr. and James M. Cernik; two sisters and and a brother, Julia DeBie, Roberta Hickok and William Cernik, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Frances Wiorek and Janet Archer. A funeral service was held private at the convenience of the family.
