Obituary of Linda Niemiec

Glenville - Linda G. Niemiec, 68 of St. Stephen's Ln E, died Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Ellis Hospital. Linda was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Anna Mary Hotaling. She was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. At one time, she worked at General Electric Co., later owning Personal Touch Monogram Co., and for many years was a hairdresser, in the Glenville area. She was a dance instructor of Polkabrations Dancers for 18 years and a Past Exalted Ruler of the Scotia Glenville Elks. Linda will be remembered as a devoted wife, cherished mother and grandmother; she enjoyed the family gatherings that continued the Polish traditions, she loved to go camping and going on cruises with their friends. She is survived by her husband of 47 years Leonard J. Niemiec, one son Larry Niemiec, a sister Audrey Matern, granddaughter Maddy Niemiec, sister-in-law Lorraine Burch, cousin Susan Daly, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by their son, Gregory Niemiec and her siblings Diane, Tom, Lee and Pat. Funeral service, Friday morning, 9:00 at The Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd,. Scotia where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours, Thursday evening from 5 to 8 at Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady, N Y.
