Scotia - Mary Lou Moffett, born April 9, 1928, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, June 12, 2106, after a short illness. Mary Lou was born in Hornell, the daughter of Helen Anderson. She was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. At one time she had worked at A T & T, later working at the Schenectady County Library. She was a member of the D. A. R. and a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. Mary Lou enjoyed a lifetime of love and laughter with her husband of 66 years, George R. Moffett. They were blessed to have met in the 7th grade at Central Park School. Mary Lou showed a deep devotion and unlimited love to their son Chris. She is survived by five children, Michael (Mary) Moffett, Carol (Joseph) Daley, Kelly (Michael) Riley, Ann Kaskel and Christopher Moffett; two sisters, Karyl (Robert) Smith and Hope Davis; six grandchildren, Allison (Brian) Miranda, Joy (Ryan) Maloney, Michael and Krysten Riley, Samantha and Connor Kaskel; three great-grandchildren, Molly Maloney, Matthew Miranda and Nolan Riley and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service, Thursday morning, 10:15 from Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours, Wednesday 5 to 8 at the funeral home. Interment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to Ellis Hospital Foundation, 1101 Nott St., Schenectady, NY 12308 or St. John the Evangelist Church, 812 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308.
