Obituary of Mildred Dondero

Niskayuna - Mildred "Millie" L. Dondero, 91, of Balltown Rd., died Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Ellis Hospital. Millie was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Ralph and Viola Dickershaid. She was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. For many years she was the Media Director for Devey, Thompson and Vignola, Advertising Agency, working later for Mary Banks Marketing Communications and The Heritage Home. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting. She was predeceased by her husband, Dominick Dondero, in 1987; and her daughter, Ferol McClosky, in 2015. Millie is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Olivia) Grant and Dominick Dondero Jr.; son-in-law, Ron McClosky; a sister, Marian DeGraff; sister-in-law, Marguerite Dickershaid; six grandchildren, Tara (John) Bedford, Ryan (Acacia) Grant, Karla (Paul) Steele, Michael (Rita) McClosky, Mark (Kathryn) McClosky and Matt (Ruth) McClosky; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Ethel Balazovich, Frank Dickershaid, Ola Middleton and Ralph Dickershaid. Funeral service, Tuesday, 12 p.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A calling hour will precede the service from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Tuesday at the funeral home.
