Obituary of Freda Reichmeider

Spring, TX - Freda McKinney Reichmeider, 52, passed away suddenly and peacefully at her home Saturday, June 18th surrounded by her loving family. Freda, born in Schenectady, was the daughter of Betty and John McKinney. The family moved to Niskayuna where she grew up and graduated from Niskayuna High School in 1982. She was employed for a time by the Boston Store located in the old Mohawk Mall. Later she worked for Merrill Lynch as a Client Associate and, upon leaving Merrill Lynch, went on to Cornell University graduating in 1995 with a degree in Industrial and Labor Relations. She worked in Human Resources for Occidental Chemical in Delaware. She met Peter Reichmeider, the love of her life, and they married in 1996. They then moved to Charlotte, NC. While there she was employed by ABB in their Human Resources division. The eventually had twin sons: Wilhem and Erik. Peter, an electrical engineer, who in the course of time obtained his Ph.D. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, moved the family to Texas enabling him to start his own company. While in Texas, Freda was again working in human resources, but shortly discontinued working outside the home so she could spend more time raising her children. Freda is survived by her husband, Peter Reichmeider; their sons, Wilhem and Erik; her parents, Betty and John McKinney; her brother, Jonathan McKinney and Sue (Peterson) and their sons, Daniel and Justin; her sister, Jacquelyn and Michael Nealon and their daughter, Grace; her sister, Jocelyn McKinney and her son, Brian Fahey; her sister, Valerie and Christopher Hamilton and their children, Christopher and Victoria; her mother-in-law, Phyllis Reichmeider; her brother-in-law, Robert and Patricia Reichmeider and their sons, Alex, Thomas, and Jesse; aunt, Alice Reichmeider; aunt, Marilyn (Reichmeider) and uncle, Walter Koehler; and aunt and uncle, Marilyn and Walter Reichmeider. Funeral service, Saturday morning, 11 a.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Visitation will precede the service Saturday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. Interment, Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie. "What we have once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose.
