Obituary of Robert Stanley

Schenectady - Robert M. Stanley, 64, of Grand Blvd., died Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Ellis Hospital. Bob was born in Schenectady, the son of Robert and Virginia Moffett Stanley, he was a graduate of Bishop Gibbons High School. Bob was a firefighter, working for the City of Schenectady Fire Dept. for 32 years, earning the rank of Deputy Chief, before retiring in 2005. His favorite pastimes were spent with family and friends, in his younger years he loved to downhill ski and in later years enjoyed spending Summers at his camp on Caroga Lake. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Stanley. Bob is also survived by three children, Casey (Debbie) Donovan, Karen (Phil) Pelletier and Michael (Jill) Stanley; stepson, Sean Russo; siblings, Marilyn, Susan (Eva Paroly) and Edward 'Teddy' Stanley; eight grandchildren, Joseph, Michael, Jr. and Abbigail Stanley, Evan, Jake and Rhiannon Donovan and PJ, and Sadie Pelletier; former wife, Kathleen Stanley and aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral service, Saturday morning, 9 a.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours, Friday afternoon, 4 to 8 p.m. in the evening at the funeral home.
