Obituary of Jean Stuart

Jean Elizabeth Stuart, age 92, of Scotia, entered into eternal life on July 11, 2016. Born in Schenectady, NY on January 29, 1924, the daughter of the late Della (Mink) and Frank Marx. She was the wife of the late William Stuart. After graduating from St. Joseph's Academy in Schenectady, she was employed by General Electric Company in the payroll department until she left to raise a family. Later on she worked many years at the Daily Gazette Company until she retired in 1988. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Scotia where she served as a Eucharistic minister. She was also a member of the rosary society and a past president. She also belonged to Cursillio. Besides her husband, she was also predeceased by a son, Francis Thomas Stuart; two sisters, Ellen Trumpler and Miriam Cavanaugh; and a brother, Frank Marx. She is survived by her devoted children, Timothy (Patricia) Stuart of Clifton Park, and Christine (David) Palmer of Scotia; her beloved grandchildren, Lauren (Michael) Sundergill of Frederick, Maryland, Leah (John) LaPointe of Niskayuna, NY and Julie (Peter) McHenry of Brunswick Maine; two stepgrandchildren, Kaitlyn and Michael Ross of Clifton Park and a great-grandson, Wesley McHenry. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a cousin. Funeral services will be held Friday morning 10:15 from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St. and 11 at St. Joseph's Church, 1st Street, Scotia. Calling hours, Thursday afternoon 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jean's name may be made to St. Joseph's Church, 45 MacArthur Drive, Scotia, NY 12302. -
