Schenectady - Charles (Chuck) L. Payton of Schenectady passed peacefully in his sleep on July 16, 2016 at Capital Living Nursing Home. Chuck was born on July 9, 1937 in Schenectady, where he remained a lifelong resident. He was retired from the General Electric, where he worked in Environmental Services. Chuck also served our country in the United States Army and the Army National Guard. He is survived by two siblings, his brother, John (Jack) Payton; his sister and brother-in-law, Helen (Wayne) Franklin; and his sister-in-law, Bernice Payton; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He will be remembered for his generosity, smile, and was always good for a laugh. Chuck enters the Kingdom of our Lord, where he will be reunited with his dear parents as well as several brothers and a sister. A graveside service will be held Wednesday morning, 11 a.m. at St Johns Cemetery, Schenectady. Arrangements by Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady.
