Joan Elizabeth O'Connor, 77, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Ellis Hospital. Born August 5, 1938 in Schenectady, New York, she was the daughter of Emma and Raymond Farry. Sister of Thomas Farry of Lilburn, GA, and the late Jimmy and John Farry. She worked for many years at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center as a nurse's aide, enjoyed traveling, casino trips, dogs and cats. Survivors include her husband, James O'Connor of 60 years; son, Robert O'Connor; daughter, Patti Tietz; and son-in-law, Robert Tietz; four grandchildren, Robert (wife, Alicia), William, Shawn and Trisha Tietz; three great-grandchildren, Aubree and Colton Tietz and Adrianna Guthinger. Funeral service will be Monday 10 a.m. at St Madeline Sophie Church. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery, Schenectady.
