Obituary of William Donaghue

Niskayuna - William "Bill" J. Donaghue, 85, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday August 7, 2016. Bill was born in Cleveland, Ohio the youngest of four boys to the late John and Jane (Redd) Donaghue. The family moved to Troy, NY when Bill was a young boy. He graduated from Troy High School and went on to work for General Electric for more than forty years. Bill left GE for two years, to proudly serve in the United States Navy during the Korean War and he was a long time communicant of St. Luke's Catholic Church. He married Jean (Stanczik) Donaghue February 27, 1960 and they had two children Tim and Maureen. Bill is survived by his wife Jean, children: Timothy (Deborah) Donaghue and Maureen (Robert) Florio, grandchildren: Robert, Paul, Taylor, Katie and Christopher and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers: John, James and George. Calling hours will be Wednesday 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:00 am Thursday at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, Union St. (formerly St. Helen's Church). Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
