Obituary of Lola Ciavardoni

SCHENECTADY- Lola B. Ciavardoni, Our lovely, gracious and generous "Aunt Lola" went home on November 21, 2009 after a brief illness while in the care of the good people at Ellis Center Rehabilitation & Residential Facility. She was born January 9, 1921 to the late Vincent and Antoinette Pardi Ciavardoni. Lola was also predeceased by her sister, Dora and brother Arthur. She is survived by her brother Otto and his family including nieces, Marcia and Marilyn, and nephews, Mark, John and Paul, grand nieces, grand nephews and several cousins. Lola is also survived by a wide circle of wonderful friends. Some of these friendships were life-long, as was the case with Clementine "Tina" Bottieri. Lola graduated from Mont Pleasant High School, worked many years as a secretary at General Electric and was a longtime communicant of St. Luke's Church. She loved children of all ages, was a great cook and hostess, enjoyed dining out, getting together with family and friends, and travel- especially the trips to New York City with Tina for the hair shows. Lola lived an active and happy life and was greatly loved by her family friends. Funeral service Wednesday morning at 9:30 am from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan Street, then to St. Luke's Church, State Street, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am. Interment will follow in the Ciavardoni family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. Calling hours will be held Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Memorial contributions may be made in Lola and Teresa Ciarvardoni's (her great-niece) names to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
