Rotterdam - Earl K. Miller, 91, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 at home. Earl was born in Nahunta, GA, the son of the late Peter and Mary Jane (Willis) Miller. His family moved to the Rotterdam area when Earl was a child. He graduated from Draper High School and earned an Electronics Degree from Hudson Valley Community College. Earl served in the US Navy aboard the USS White Plains from 1943 to 1946 as a Radioman and Gunner, during which time he and his shipmates were engaged in the Battle of Leyty in the Phillippines. As a young man, Earl worked for GE then went on to work at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, where he worked for 38 years, retiring in 1986. He was always a true gentleman and spent many summers in Caroga Lake, NY with his wife, June, who predeceased Earl. Earl is survived by his son, Cory "Corky" Miller and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Fisher's Cemetery, Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, Friday, 11 a.m. There will be no calling hours
