Obituary of marilyn Stanley

Marilyn J. Stanley, 63 of Riverside Ave, died Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at Ellis Hospital. Marilyn was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Robert and Virginia Moffett Stanley. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, SUNY Plattsburgh and earned a Master Degree from the College of St. Rose. Early in her teaching career she taught at St. Madeleine Sophie School and at St. Gregory's School, later teaching Kindergarten and Pre-K for the Schenectady City School District. During her career Marilyn was nominated for teacher of the year for the school district. She was a past board of the NYSAEYC, where she held several offices.. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, boating on Lake George and her Summer home on The Great Sacandaga Lake. Marilyn had a passion for decorating her home and classrooms. She is survived by her longtime companion Michael J. Pedone; a brother and sister Ted Stanley and Susan (Eva Paroly); sister in law Mary Lou Stanley; nieces and a nephews Karen (Phil) Pelletier and Casey (Debbie) Donovan, Michael (Jill) Stanley; great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and many cousins She was predeceased by her brother Robert M. Stanley. Funeral service Saturday morning 8:15 from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc. 242 McClellan St. Schenectady and 9:00 at St. Luke's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
