Obituary of Clarence Turek

Schenectady - Clarence (Bud) Turek, 84, passed away on January 18, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Amsterdam, NY on April 29, 1932 to Joseph and Anna (Furman). Clarence graduated from Amsterdam High School and served 4 years in the US Navy. He then pursued a career of becoming a hairstylist and spent the next 60 years perfecting his passion of making people feel good about themselves when they looked in the mirror to admire the work he had done. He was the owner of the "House of Clarence" hair salon and later on moved to Progressions Hair Salon where he worked alongside his son Bart. He was a loving and compassionate husband and father. The two items he enjoyed most in life were spending time with his family and friends, and working alongside his son Bart. He was predeceased by his brother, Gregory Turek. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Bruce (Martha), Bart, Barry (Armi); grandchildren, Dominique, Nico, Joelle, Marisa, Sabrina, Alex, and Joshua. Several nieces and nephews. The family had a private service at the Daly Funeral home. Interment was at the Parkview Cemetery.
