Obituary of Mercedes Acosta

Mercedes Ana Acosta, lovingly known to many as "Mecho", was born on November 8th, 1928 in Santiago, Dominican Republic. She was a devoted mother and no one could have asked for a better grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt or friend. She leaves behind two children, Danilo and Angela, who adored her with their whole beings, and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a second mother to many and anyone entrusted to her was loved and cared for as if they were her own. She touched the lives of so many that it would be impossible to name them all. One could enter her house a stranger, become a friend and leave as family. Her wit and sense of humor endeared her to many and her quick tongue kept many of her children, grandchildren and their friends in line and out of trouble. Her absence leaves a hole that can not be filled and the memories she leaves us are bittersweet and cherished beyond measure. Please join us to celebrate her life on Friday, April 14th. Visitation is at 12:00, immediately followed by a 1:00 service and a burial at Parkview Cemetery at 2:00. Mercedes Ana Acosta, amorosamente conocida por muchos como "Mecho", nació el 8 de Noviembre del año 1928 en Santiago, República Dominicana. Ella era una madre devota y nadie podría haber pedido una mejor abuela, bisabuela, hermana, tía o amiga. Ella deja en vida a dos hijos, Danilo y Ángela, que la adoraban con todo su ser, y una multitud de nietos y bisnietos. Ella era también una segunda madre a muchos y cualquier persona confiada a ella era amada y cuidada como si fuera de sus propios. Ella tocó la vida de tantos que sería imposible nombrarlos a todos. Uno podría entrar en su casa siendo un extraño, convertirse en un amigo y salir amado como familia. Su ingenio y sentido del humor la hacían ser querida por muchos y su lengua rápida movió a muchos de sus hijos, nietos y amigos a escoger una vida íntegra y lejos de problemas. Su ausencia deja un vacío que no puede ser llenado y los recuerdos que ella nos deja son agridulcese invaluable. Únase a nosotros para celebrar su vida el Viernes, 14 de Abril. La visita es a las 12:00, seguida inmediatamente por un servicio a la 1:00 y el entierro en el cementerio de Parkview a las 2:00.
