Schenectady - John R. Burns, Jr. 61 of Paulding St, died at home on April 14,2017. John was born in Albany, the son of John and Florence Burns. He was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and a U S Navy veteran. He had worked for the City of Schenectady and Campbell Plastics. He was predeceased b y his wife Helen Jennings Burns, she died in 2012 and is survived by 3 children Rebecca (TerranceTownsend) Burns, Jennifer Burns and Joshua Burns; six siblings carol Leroy, Pauline Price, Wayne Burns, Lee Burns, Patsy Burns and Gerald Brooks;4 grandchildren many nieces, nephews and his loving cat, Schmitly . He was predeceased by his sister Suzanne Burns. A committal service will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery Thursday afternoon at 2:00. A calling hour will be held at Daly Funeral Home, Inc,. 242 McClellan St., Schenectady from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Interment, Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, NY 12302.
