Obituary of Bernard Darrel

Bernard "Bernie" Darrel, 96, formerly of Myron St., died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Capital Living Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Bernie was born and educated in Yonkers, the son of Jacob and Sarah Darrel. He was a graduate of New York University and was a  Navigator during World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps. He had worked as an Electrical Engineer for the General Electric Laboratories, for 37 years, retiring in 1982 and had been a member of the ELFUN Society. He is survived by his wife, Anne MacNeil Darrell; they married in 1955. Two children, John Darrel of Niskayuna and Elizabeth (Eric) Linendoll of Ballston Lake and a grandson,Jacob Linendoll. A graveside service will be held Saturday morning, 10:00, at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Schenectady.  Calling hours, Friday evening, 5 to 7 p.m. at  Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady.
