Obituary of Gladys Julia Maloney
Gladys Julia Maloney, 97 of the Fulton Center of Rehabilitation Center, in Gloversville formerly of Lorraine Ave. Gladys was born and educated in Port Daniels Quebec, Canada, the daughter of William and Laura Des. She moved to the Schenectady and married her husband Leo in 1957. She had worked as a waitress at many restaurants for many years and had been a typist for Cushing Stone and a telephone operator for Bell Telephone. Gladys was a lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 1005 and had been a communicant of St. Thomas Church. She was predeceased by her husband Leo Maloney, he died in 2009. She was from a large family including brothers and sisters Arnold, Everett , Elmer, , Fergus, George, Gertrude, Jean, Jerry, Mary and Omer. She is survived by two nephews and a niece Doug, Richard and Diane and her God child Gladys Lee. A vistation will be held held Sunday afternoon 12:30 to 1:15 at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc. 242 McClellan St. Schenectady, followed by a funeral service at 1:15. The entombment at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family. Gladys and her family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation for their kindness and care provided to Gladys while living there.
