Niskayuna - Mitchell H. Gay, 90, formerly of Killarney Dr., died Monday, September 11, 2107 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center. Mitchell was born in Schenectady, the son of Mitchell and Elizabeth Gay. He resided in Syracuse for several years and moved back to the Schenectady area and was a graduate of Draper High School. He was a U S Army veteran serving during World War II and had worked at the General Electric Co. as a machinist, for many years, before retiring. A favorite pastime was working around his house and working at his church the former Westminister United Presbyterian Church, where he always made the church look nice for special occasions. He is survived by his wife, Alice Eck Gay. Three sons, Glenn (Deborah) Gay of Baldwin, WI, Joseph Gay of Syracuse and Edwin (Marta Zielyk) Gay of Reston, VA; a sister, Elizabeth Winberg of Ft. Collins, CO; four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral service, Saturday afternoon 2 p.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A calling hour will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to City Mission of Schenectady 425 Hamilton St., Schenectady, NY 12305.
