Obituary of Rose Cortese

Rose F. Cortese, 43, formerly of Stiles House, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Dutch Manor, with her family by her side after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Born in Schenectady, Rose was a lifelong area resident. She worked at Pine Ridge Industries in Scotia for many years and had bowled in the Special Olympics. She is survived by her brother, Reggie Cortese and her cousins, Lillis Romine, Debbie Baker, Liz Newport and Roberta Macejka. A memorial service will be held Wednesday evening, 5 p.m., at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be private. Rose will be missed by her friends who became family at the ARC. Rose's family would like to thank the staff of ARC for their loving care and also thank Dutch Manor for their kindness and understanding. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society .
