Obituary of Arthur Frazer

Schenectady – Arthur J. Frazer, 84, of Scotia, died peacefully with his family at his bedside, on Monday, October 23, 2017. Born in Schenectady, Art was the son of the late Mary Latimore and William Frazer.
He graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1953. In June of 1955, he began serving his country as a member of the United States Army. He was honorably discharged in June of 1957, after earning the Good Conduct Medal. He continued to serve in the Army Reserves until June of 1963. Art worked for the General Electric Company for more than 30 years, retiring in 1998.
Art was an avid golfer. In fact, after he retirement, he moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to spend more time on the golf course. His home course was Whispering Pines. He could often be found enjoying the 19th hole surrounded by his many friends.
Art was predeceased by his brother, John W. Frazer, Sr. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Eleanor Pomeroy Frazer; his nephew, John (Teresa) Frazer, Jr. of Colonie and nieces, Kimberly (Keith) Christmas of Schenectady and Monica (Wayne) Sandilands of Glenville; grandniece, Alyssa LaFountain of Schenectady; grandnephew, Kyle Frazer of Colonie; grandniece, Briana Christmas of Schenectady and grandniece, Courtney Frazer of Phoenix, Arizona; as well as three great-grandnieces and a great-grandnephew.
Funeral services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Schenectady Cancer Foundation, 1509 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12309 or to a charity of choice.
