Obituary of Eugene Creeden

Gene Creeden, formerly of Rotterdam, was at rest Monday, November 22, at the age of 82, at Glendale Nursing Home, after battling Alzheimer's disease for several years. Born in Goshen, New York, he was the son of Lucy and Russell Creeden. He served in the U.S. Army's 40th Infantry Division during the Korean War, where he attained the rank of master sergeant; was married to Lillian Creeden in 1953, and graduated from Mohawk Valley Technical Institute in Utica in 1955. He moved to Schenectady thereafter and lived there for the rest of his life. He worked in the retail business for several local department stores including Carl's, Wallace's Two Guys, Boston Store, Flah's, Kelley Clothes, and Henry's Cleaners. He is survived by his son Rick; daughter-in-law, Barbara; granddaughter, Monicque Deschamps and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Lucy Minich of Seaford, DE; four sisters- in-law, Marie Creeden of Middletown, NY, Gloria Creeden of Cincinnatus, NY, Marie Creeden of Greenwood, DE, and Lou Ann Creeden of Laurelville, OH; and by a brother- in-law, Walter Kowal of Pine Island, NY. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be at the Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY on Monday, November 29, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , Northeastern New York Chapter, 85 Watervliet Ave.,
