Schenectady - Philomena (Monticolo) Travers, 91, formerly of Eighth Ave., entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the Schenectady Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. Born and raised in Schenectady, she was the fifth child of Umberto and Primevera Ottuso Monticolo. She was a graduate Nott Terrace High School, class of 1945. She worked as a payroll clerk at General Electric and later in life worked as a Home Health Care Aide. She had been a communicant of St. Thomas Church and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She was a member of Annie Schaffer Senior Center and the Over 50 Monday Bowlers. Phil was a conscientious blood donor and always donated to City Mission of Schenectady and enjoyed doing random acts of kindness to someone in need. Phil was predeceased by her husband Marvin E. Travers. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Travers; her grandson, Ron ((Danielle) Davis; great- grandson, Ryder and a sister, Genevieve Newberry. She was predeceased by siblings Patrick, Ralph, Charles, Joseph and Maria. At Philomena's reques, there will be no calling hours and the funeral will be private.
