Obituary of Ralph J. King

     Ralph J. King  1945-2018

     It is with broken hearts that we morn the loss of our beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather, Ralph John King. His family was with him when he passed away on May 3, 2018, he was 72 years old. 

     He was the son of the late William J. and Agnes (Dedrick) King.   Ralph  and his wife Susan were married on March 11, 1968.  They were blessed to have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and grandchildren.  To Susan, Ralph was the love of her life and no father was ever loved more than Ralphie was to Dennis and Kerrianne.  Family always came first.

     Ralph is survived by his wife Susan, his son Dennis (Ashley) King of Niskayuna, his  daughter Kerrianne (Jeremy) Pace of Clifton Park, his beloved brother William D.(Beth) King of Glenville and his loved and cherished grandchildren Jeremy, Julianna,  Cameron and Kendall.  He is also survived by several cousins, a niece and 3 nephews and many dear friends.

     Ralph was a graduate of Linton High School, Class of 1963.  He served in the United  States Army Reserves during the Vietnam War.  He was a proud Schenectady Firefighter for 28 years.  After retiring from the fire department, he was a Court Attendant for 12 years at the Schenectady County Court.  Ralph was an avid sports fan.  He loved golfing at Muni, the Yankees, running, the YMCA and mornings with his Union Street Stewarts buddies.(You know who you are !).  Ralph was a Past President of St. Paul the Apostle CYO and coached both girls and boys basketball.  What ever his children or grandchildren were involved in, he never missed anything (providing he wasn't at a fire).  He was the best ! !

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening 5 to 7 at Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady.  Members of the City of Schenectady Fire Department, active and retired, are requested to meet at the funeral home at 6:00.
