Obituary of John G. Van Brocklen

Schenectady - John G. Van Brocklen, 69, died Friday, May 25, 2018, at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Guilderland. John was born in Catskill, the son of Douglas and Agnes Van Brocklen. He was a graduate of Linton High School and Schenectady Community College. He was a U S Marine veteran, serving in Vietnam. He worked at O.D. Heck for many years, retiring in 2018. Survivors include his brother Charles Van Brocklen of West Sand Lake; three nieces and one nephew. He was predeceased by siblings Janet Warner and Donald Van Brocklen. Funeral service Saturday morning 10:30 at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 10:30 at the funeral home. Interment, Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam, with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, NY 12302.
