Hilda Damberg Obituary

Hilda J. Damberg, 89, of First Ave., died Friday, January 15, 2010, at Ellis Hospital, after a short illness. Mrs. Damberg was born in Nuremberg, Germany, moved to Schenectady as a child and was a graduate of Draper High School. Hilda has worked at the General Electric Co. as a secretary, retiring several years ago, with 40 years of service. She was a member of the Rotterdam Senior Citizen's Center. Hilda was married to Edmund Damber. He died in 1997. She is survived by four children, Nancy Loomis (Warren Pendleton) of LaPlata, MD, Frederick (Cindy) Damberg of Purling, Kevin Damberg of Rotterdam and Kathy Murach of Lebanon, NJ; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and nieces. Funeral service on Tuesday afternoon at 4 at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A calling hour will precede the service from 3 to 4 o'clock at the funeral home. A spring interment will be held at Viewland Cemetery, Rotterdam. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, NY 12302.
