Obituary of Cathleen Armstead

Schenectady – Cathleen J. Armstead, 98, passed away peacefully Thursday July 5, 2018 surrounded by loving family. Cathleen was born in Halifax, VA the daughter of the late John and Mary Jane Jones. She has called the capital region home for many, many years. She was married to her husband James C. Armstead until his passing in 1970. Cathleen worked for the Glendale Nursing home as a nurses aid until her retirement. She loved to cook and would do anything she could to help the people in her life. Cathleen was the matriarch of her very big loving family. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her children Betty Logan and Willie Waller, one brother and two sisters. She is survived by her children: Catherine Lawal, James Armstead and Doris Armstead, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Tuesday 12:00 noon at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Visitation will precede the service from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Tuesday. Interment will be in Park View Cemetery.
