Obituary of Robert E. Nolte

Schenectady - On 7/20/18 Robert E. Nolte passed away at Ellis Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a short illness.

Bob was born in New York City on July 30th, 1924 and was raised in Schenectady. He attended Nott Terrace High School and graduated from Siena College in 1948 and earned his Master of Science in Foreign Trade from Columbia University in 1950.  He honorably served his country in both World War 2 and the Korean conflict in the United States Navy.

Bob was employed by the General Electric Company for 29 years as an accountant.  He also served on the faculty of Siena College for over 20 years as a professor of accounting.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Sophia (Fenzl) Nolte, his sister Catherine Schiefer, and his grandson, Christopher Nolte.

Bob is survived by his wife, Constance (Reger) Nolte. They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in September of 2018. He is also survived by his children Kathy Sokolowski (John), Peggy McDermott (Francis), Marian Boorn (Carl), Joe Nolte (Ann), and Tom. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Bob was a long time active member of St, Luke’s Parish, Nocturnal Adoration Society, and the 3rd Order of Carmelites.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Lukes’s Church, 1241 State St, Schenectady at 9:00 a.m.  Tuesday, July 24th.   Calling hours will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 23rd at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St, Schenectady NY 12304.
