Obituary of Donald C. Thomas

Glenville - Donald C. Thomas, 87 of Amsterdam Rd. formerly of Lake Luzerne, died Sunday, July 29, 2018, at home. Don was born in Schenectady, the son of Robert and Cornelia Thomas. He was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. He worked for the Mohawk National Bank, starting as a teller working his way up to Vice President of the bank. He completed his education through the American Banking Institute, retiring from the bank in 1992, with 40 years service. Through the years he was an active volunteer in the communities he lived in and the churches he attended . He was active in many organizations where he lived, including the Lions and Kiwanis. He is survived by his wife of nearly 29 years, Mary Lynch Thomas. He is also survived by three children; Jeff (Judi) Thomas, Kimberly Petersen and Steven((Kaylyn) Thomas; four stepchildren; Marijo Russell, Tracy(Kristy) Morgan, Christine (Mark) Madigan and Kathleen (Edward) Walrath; a sister, Nola Duquette; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by siblings, Doris Davignon, Ernest Thomas, Beverly Bertrand and Walter Thomas. Funeral, Thursday afternoon at12:30 from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 1:00 at St. Luke's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours, Thursday 10:30 to 12:30 at the funeral home.
