Lawrence Czaban, 88, a longtime resident of Rotterdam, died Sunday, August 19, 2018, at Ellis Hospital.Larry was born in Schenectady, the son of William and Katherine Czaban. He was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and attended Bowling Green College, in Ohio and Union College and was a graduate of the General Electric Apprentice Program. He was a US Army World War II veteran.He worked at the General Electric Co, as a Drafting Specialist, retiring in 1990, with 39 years. He was a member of the Rotterdam Elks, the GE Quarter Century Club, and the American Legion. Larry enjoyed all outdoor activities, especially boating and camping on Lake George, skiing and traveling around the world. He loved parties and any social gathering with family and his many friends.He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nancy Coffee Czaban, they married in 1954.Also survived by his cherished daughter, Laurie (Craig Petreikis) Schraver, sister, Kathleen Cardinal of Delaware; one devoted grandson, Robert Schraver; two nephews, Joseph Cardinal and Jack Cardinal and several great-nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Bette Czaban.Funeral service, Friday morning, 11 a.m. at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, with military honors. Those able to attend for your convenience, you meet in the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady, parking lot at 9:45 a.m. Friday morning. Calling hours, Thursday evening, 5 to 8 p.m. in the evening at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the Lake George Association, 2392 State Rt. 9N, P.O.
