Obituary of Arnold C. Gillespie

Niskayuna - Arnold Gillespie of Niskayuna, NY died October 27, 2018. Born to the late Oswald and Mabel Gillespie, of Schenectady, he graduated from Nott Terrace High School, attended Siena College, and graduated from the Faust School, Boston. He served in the United States Navy, in the Pacific, in WWII. He was proprietor of Arnold C. Gillespie Piano Sales and Service until he retired in 2004. Arnold was a charter member and past president of the Piano Technicians Guild. He was a senior member of Niskayuna Rotary, and he was active in Scottish Clan MacPherson. Arnold is survived by his wife of 67 years, Patricia Gillespie. He is predeceased by his sister Doris Mitchell. Survivors include his son David Gillespie and his wife Susan Sabetti of Hilton Head, SC and grandsons Andrew Gillespie of New York, NY and Brian Gillespie of Los Angeles, CA and his daughter Susan Sayers and her partner Rick Gagnon of Biddeford, ME, granddaughter Courtney Sayers of Dover, NH and grandson Jeremy Sayers of Nashua, NH. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and grand nephews. Funeral Service, Monday morning 11:00 at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady, with military honors.
