Obituary of Gloria Deutl

NISKAYUNA- Gloria S. Deutl, 84, passed away peacefully at Ellis Hospital. Born in Troy, N.Y., she was a student nurse in the Cadet Corps during World War II and then graduated from Russell Sage College with a degree in nursing. Gloria married Dr. Rudolph Deutl and they had six children. She was a longtime member of St. George's Episcopal Church, where she served on the altar guild for many years. Gloria's deep passion for flower arranging, travel, sense of adventure and continued involvement in various charitable organizations kept her life full. She is predeceased by her husband, Rudy; parents, James (Bud) and Eugenia (Jean) Swisher; and son, John Darwin Deutl. Survivors include her children, Diane (Joe) Fiore, David (Amy Jo) Deutl, Debbie (Dave) Fischer, James Deutl, and Amy (Bob) Daniel; eleven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The Order for the Burial of the Dead will be celebrated Thursday at 11 A.M. at St. George's Episcopal Church, N. Ferry Street, Schenectady. Interment will follow the Mass in Memory Gardens, Watervliet-Shaker Road, Colonie. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at St. George's Episcopal Church, Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gloria's name to the Covenant House New York, 460 West 41st Street, New York, NY 10036.
