I met Kathy soon after starting at the Knolls Lab and she was a constant source of encouragement and generosity throughout her entire time there. One particularly hot summer, she insisted on giving me an extra window air conditioning unit for my home when she heard we were getting by with just window fans. Later, when she got central air conditioning for her home, she gave me all of her window units. That was the kind of person she was - always looking for ways to help out and thinking of meaningful gifts for others. One of the last things we did together was participate in an "Alpha course" (www.alpha.org) and when she could no longer attend in person, she followed along on-line and called me periodically to see how everything was going. She was always so supportive and thoughtful and will be greatly missed, but we can be comforted that she is in a better place in God's peace and presence.
