I will miss my musical friend of more than 25 years, with whom I made numerous concert trips to Tanglewood, SPAC, Symphony Hall in Boston and Verizon Hall in Philadephia to hear the music of Berlioz, Britten and Bruckner performed by the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra, the Boston Symphony and the Philadelphia Orchestra. Ron worked as a staff photographer for Columbia Masterworks in the 1960s and '70s under the legendary Don Hunstein and came to observe and know Leonard Bernsteim and producer John McClure. He took some of the last photographs of Bernstein in August 1990 -- some of which are still restricted by the conductor's family. Ron also reviewed concerts for the New England ArtsFuse online concert website, and frequently took pictures of Albany Symphony events over the years.
As an amateur astronomer, Ron played a major role in "Astronomy Night" at SPAC ten years ago, when his fellow hobbyists dotted the lawn to look at the stars after the Philadelphia Orchestra performed Gustav Holst's The Planets on a wonderful August night.
Rest well, Ronaldo.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Ron. I was on the Helderberg Observatory Board for a couple of years and witnessed his vision and passion for developing the Observatory. He belongs to the stars.
