Helen Makowski Diemer, 96, passed away October 22, 2009 at Ellis Hospital. Helen was the daughter of the late Wendell and Louise Makowski. She was employed at Montgomery Ward for 42 years, retiring in October of 1977. Helen was married to Gilbert Diemer for 62 years and there were no children. A brief funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan Street. A calling hour will precede the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
