Scotia - Arlene A. Jurusik, 88, formerly of Rotterdam, passed away Sunday, June 28, at the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia.
Born in Cobleskill, Arlene worked as a Banquet Waitress for local area establishments for over 25 years. She was a member of St. Gabriel's Church where she was a Lector and a member of its women's club and a member of the Bartenders and Waitresses Union, Local 471. Arlene was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan and was devoted to her daughters and grandchildren.
Wife of the late Frank Jurusik who passed in 1993, she is also predeceased by her sister, Helen Mickel and her brother Robert Holmes. Survivors include 3 daughters, Joanne Jurusik, Cathy (Lloyd) Denny and Laurie Jurusik; 2 grandchildren, Danielle Denny and Jennifer Denny (Travis Boisclair.) Also survived by 2 great-grandchildren, Anthony and Melanie Boisclair; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service, Thursday 11 am at The Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St. An hour of visitation will precede the service from 10 -11. Interment, St John's Cemetery, Amsterdam.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Baptist Health Nursing Rehabilitation Center for their special care of Arlene. Memorial contributions may be made to St Gabriel's Church Parish Development Fund, American Heart Association, or the American Diabetes Assoc.
