Obituary of Robert Dietz

Robert C. Dietz, 58, passed away suddenly on November 27, 2010. Robert was born on October 18, 1952, and was a lifelong resident of Schenectady. He was a graduate of Bishop Gibbons High School, and worked in food service and maintenance until his retirement. He wrote lyrics and poetry throughout his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his cats, reading, and discussing literature, sports, and music. He is survived by a daughter, Kira Dietz of Blacksburg, VA; four sisters, Marcella Dietz of Schenectady, Ann (Robert) Williams of Poultney, VT, Margaret Gray of Waldport, OR, and Catherine (Jeff) Janiszewski of Schenectady, and five nieces and two nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert R. and Helen K. Dietz. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Thursday at St. Luke's Church, State St., Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady.
