Saratoga Springs, NY – Elizabeth "Betty" Mead, 99, passed away Wednesday December 30, 2020.
Betty was born and raised in Yonkers, NY the daughter of the late Edward and Loretta Mader. As a young woman, she moved to capital district eventually settling in the Schenectady area.
Betty worked in the fashion industry most of her life, working for Estee Lauder as a cosmetics buyer in the Imperial Department Store. She also volunteered at the gift shop at St. Clare's Hospital for many years and enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, shopping and going to the movies.
Betty was predeceased by her husband Leon Mead and their son Michael Mead.
Betty is survived by her granddaughter Stephanie (Matt) Vanderstad, great-grandchildren Morgan and Ethan, nieces Mary Ann Hannon and Karyn Knapik and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
