Obituary of Anna Dumont

Anna Dumont, 86, passed away Saturday January 2, 2020. Anna was born in Troy, NY, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Gardner and was a lifelong capital district resident. Anna worked with her late husband, Garnet Dumont, as the bookkeeper of the family roofing business and she also worked as a bookkeeper for her sons paving business. Anna was an active member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, an avid golfer and always impeccably dressed. She was a humble woman with a great big heart and was very proud of her garden in her backyard that was an oasis for all who visited it. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her children: Deborah Dumont and Stephen Dumont, siblings: Joseph Gardner, Andrew Gardner and Judith Hood. Anna is survived by her granddaughter Ashley Ruszczyk, dear friend Edward Pepicelli, sister Dorothy Markle, nieces and nephews: Jeffrey Markle, Andrew Gardner, Jr., Barbara D'Aversa, Andrea Corrie, JoAnn Hood and Janice Tilson. The funeral service will be held Thursday 1 p.m. at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A calling hour will precede the service from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Park View Cemetery, Schenectady.
