Obituary of Timothy Joseph Oleksiak

Timothy J Oleksiak, 58 passed away on Tuesday Jan. 19, 2021 with his loving family by his side. Born in Schenectady , NY, son of the late Stanley & Barbara (Richardson) Oleksiak. He was a 1980 graduate of ND-BG. He went on to continue his education and obtained an Associates Degree from SCCC. He was a medical courier for 22 years. He was a communicant of St. Luke's Church & a longtime member of the Rotterdam Elks. Tim was passionate in his love of music and sports. Bruce Springsteen, Phoenix Suns, LA Dodgers, and Carolina Hurricanes just to name a few. He loved his family. Tim, with his daughter, Gillian and son, Tyler shared precious memories attending River Rats hockey games, supporting the local Tri-City Valley Cats and making special trips to see his beloved Dodgers when they were in town to play the Mets at Citifield. Tim had a kind heart and always made the people around him laugh. He was an amazing dad to his kids and never hesitated to put a smile on someone's face. He lived a great life and now is spending time with his family and friends in heaven. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Kim (Marra ) Oleksiak, his daughter, Gillian, his son, Tyler, his brothers, Paul ( Kristine) and Walter Oleksiak as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. His dogs had a special place in his heart.. Heidi, Gretchen, Hubie, Dexter, Blaire & Ruby. Calling hours will be held Sunday 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday 9:00 am at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 1241 State St., Schenectady. Interment will be Tuesday 1:30 at St. Cyril's Cemetery, 611 Duanesburg Rd., Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations in Tim's name to the Animal Protective Foundation on Maple Ave.
