Mary Ellen Lorenz DuBois, 78, of Van Antwerp Village, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Albany Medical Center, after a short illness. Mary Ellen was born in Sayre, PA, moved to Schenectady as a child and was a graduate of St. Columba High School. She had worked for AT&T as an operator, retiring as a supervisor in 1984, with 30 years of service. Mary Ellen was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America, was volunteer at St. Clare's Hospital, enjoyed playing bridge with several bridge groups and did crossword puzzles every day. She had been a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Mary Ellen is survived byher husband of 57 years, Donald DuBois; one daughter, Donna (Tom), Mount of Barrington, NJ; one sister, Frances "Butchie" Masso of Coxsackie; three grandchildren, Tommy, Rebecca and Rachel. She was predeceased by a sister, Beatrice Clark. Funeral service Tuesday morning at 8:30 from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Monday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2216 Rosa Rd., Schenectady, NY 12309.
