Obituary of Pearl Marie Hali

Please share a memory of Pearl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Pearl Marie Hali on Feb. 21 2021. Born April 17, 1937 to parents Thomas and Mildred (Bredehoft) Carlisle, she was raised in Pascagoula, MS. While working in Mobile, AL, she met naval officer Tom Hali, whom she moved north to marry in 1959 at Elmira, NY. They spent six happy years there, when Tom accepted a job that brought them to Niskayuna. Pearl gained much satisfaction through her volunteer work with many organizations, especially the Junior League and Sunnyview. She was a gracious hostess who loved to entertain, continually searching cookbooks, magazines and restaurants for new dishes to serve her guests. Wanting the best for her two children, she created opportunities for them to try new experiences, and be successful. Dogs were very special to her, doting on any that were in her life. Pearl's smile and enthusiasm made her friends wherever she went, and made life fun. She is survived by her son Tom Jr. of New Smyrna Beach, FL, daughter Debbie of Huntington Beach, CA, sister Louise, and brother Joseph. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Tom, siblings Josephine, Thomas, Mary, in-laws Margaret and Lee, many nieces and nephews. Memorial service plans are on hold until COVID restrictions are lifted.
