Robert J. Cassella, 78, passed away peacefully Saturday April 3, 2021 after a long illness. Robert was born in Schenectady the son of the late Louis and Matilda (Santorelli) Cassella and was a lifelong area resident. Bob graduated from Hudson Valley Community College with an associates degree in Civil Engineering and went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Nichols College. Bob spent his professional life as a Manufacturing Plant Manager. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Susan (Fitzgerald) Cassella, their children Robert Cassella, Jr. and Terri (Gary) Fountain and grandchildren: Nicholas Cassella, Mason Fountain, Kylie Fountain, and Lindsey Kate Fountain. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brother Bradley Cassella of Newfane, Vermont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 9:00 a.m. at St. Kateri Tekakwitha, Union St., Niskayuna. Entombment to follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name to Mohawk-Hudson Humane Society or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Disease.
