Obituary of Joseph Hogan

Hogan, Joseph John, Schenectady, NY. Joe passed into the arms of Jesus April 21, 2021 after a long illness. Joe was born in Cohoes, NY to James and Florence Hogan. He was a graduate of Guilderland Central High School. For many years Joe was an employee of the Golub Corporation. Joe was a gregarious man and would cheerfully talk to anyone. He liked professional wrestling, the band Stryper and the Vikings, Mets and Lakers. Although he struggled with debilitating disease for most of his adult life, Joe laughed easily, especially when he was teasing his sisters, nieces and nephews. Joe's greatest desire was to be right with Jesus. He was a member of Free Spirit Fellowship in Ballston Spa, NY. Joe was predeceased by his niece Laura Smith. He is survived by his sisters, Mary (Dan) Shields and Margaret (Bill) Smith as well as his uncles, Francis LaJeunesse and George LaJeunesse. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews: Daniel (Tiffany) Shields, Amy (Zach) Crossen, Ashley (Cory) Seyboth, Jessica (Martin) Watjen, Clare (Dan) McBane, Patrick Smith and Christopher Smith, as well as many more grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins. The family thanks Barb Allen, who provided over 30 years of care for Joe during his illness. Her love transformed her job into a mission field and we are ever grateful. Funeral services Will be Monday at 11 AM at Daly Funeral, 242 McClellan St, Schenectady, NY 12304. A Calling hour will precede the service from 10 to 11 at the funeral home.Interment immediately following. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Free Spirit Fellowship, 1425 West High St., Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
