Beverly Ann Dunleavy ScotiaBeverly Ann Dunleavy of Scotia died peacefully surrounded by her family April 4, 2012. Beverly was born February 21, 1931 in Schenectady, NY. She was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School where she served on the reunion committee for the class of 1948. Beverly married Edward Francis Dunleavy on May 1, 1949. She worked in various administrative positions at General Electric Company, Mohawk National Bank and in the medical field. Eventually her career led her to the family business, TCAR, founded by her husband Edward. Beverly played an important role in the family business for decades. She was a co founder and past president of Mayfair Women's Club and a frequent volunteer during neighborhood fund drives for the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society and The March of Dimes. One of Beverly's greatest civic rewards was her 15 years of volunteer work at the St. Clare's Hospital, sharing her time between the surgical center and the hospital gift shop. Beverly was raised by her grandparents and was passionate about creating a strong family unit. Her home was a welcoming environment for family, neighbors and friends. She was always available to offer motherly advice and guidance to anyone in need. Beverly loved gardening and was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed all activities around her home. Beverly was predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, Edward Francis Dunleavy. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Michael) Olszewski of Saratoga Springs; sons, Christopher (Cathy) Dunleavy of Scotia, Brad (Nadia) Dunleavy of Scotia, Brian (Leslie) Dunleavy of Lake George and Craig (Bonnie) Dunleavy of Galway. Bev is also survived by her grandchildren, Colleen, Lisa, Tara, Christopher, Patrick, Ryan, Danielle, Carley, Stephanie, Sean, Kyle, and Casey; as well as her great grandchildren, Nicole, Sierra, Cooper, Brady and Eli; as well as her brother Wayne Snyder of Cocoa Beach, FL. The family wishes to thank the staff at Scotia-Glenville Family Medicine, Kingsway Manor, Schenectady Hospice, and Ellis Hospital floor A-6 for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you make a donation in memory of Beverly Dunleavy to McClellan Street Campus at the foundation for Ellis Medicine at 1101 Nott St., Schenectady, NY 12308 or to any charity of your choice . Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9, 9 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Glenville where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. In lieu of calling hours, all friends and family are encouraged to attend a Celebration of Life immediately following the cemetery services at The Charlton Tavern, 745 Charlton Road, Charlton
