Please share a memory of Armand to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Schenectady - Armand F Capullo , 83 passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Friday, May 28th after a long illness. Armand was the son of the late Charles and Nancy (Renzi) Capullo, and was predeceased by his wife Beverly Capullo and brother Charles Capullo Jr. Born and raised in Schenectady, he graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1955. Armand served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958; he was proud to be a veteran. After leaving the service, he worked for Niagara Mohawk until he joined the Schenectady Fire Department in 1961. Throughout his career, he developed many lifelong friendships that he held dear to his heart. Armand remained on the fire department until he retired in 1992 as a Captain, after 31 years on the job he loved. He stayed active with the fire department in later years handling the Retired Firefighters Association; once a fireman, always a fireman. Armand was quiet by nature but was known for his quick wit and great sense of humor. He was an avid golfer cherishing his time golfing with his closest friends; always looking forward to the annual golf trips and weekly dinners with "the guys". He was an ardent sports fan, loved the casino (when he was winning) and waited patiently each year for the track to open; not just for the race but to spend time with his friends whom he loved dearly. Armand became somewhat of a snowbird later in life, enjoying extended trips to Arizona each winter to spend time with his children and grandsons, his pride and joy. Beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Armand will be missed by the many whose lives he impacted on a personal and professional level. Armand is survived by his sons Scott Capullo of Boise, Idaho, and Daniel Capullo of Schenectady, and his daughter Wendy Capullo of Tucson, Arizona; Grandsons, Payton, Dominic and Joseph, sisters Elaine Crandall and Louise; (Nick) Mone, brothers Ronald Capullo and Martin (Carol) Capullo. He is also survived by generations of loving nieces, nephews and cousins and will be greatly missed by too many friends to mention. Calling hours, Wednesday, June 16th, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Daly Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at the Saratoga National Cemetery with military honors on Thursday, June 17th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital (stjude.org) or Arizona Oncology Foundation (arizonaoncologyfoundation.org)
