I am saddened to hear of Hazel's passing. From 1983-1997 my family lived down the street from Hazel and Marshall. She was always so kind to us and always had time to chat with my children when they were younger. Sometimes, when she would invite them to come up on the porch, they would feel very grown up while visiting with her. She often found small gifts to give them like a Halloween decoration which became a favorite of ours. She was very generous of heart and was a very sincere listener. After we moved from the neighborhood, I would occasionally see Hazel walking on Upper Union Street. She always remembered who I was and asked about my children. It was very heartwarming. As you have written in her obituary, she will be greatly missed. I hope that she has found peace.
