Obituary of Nancy I. Czaban

Nancy I. Czaban, 91 of Rotterdam, passed peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 31. Nancy was born in Auburn, NY, the daughter of Fred and Irene Coffey. She moved to Schenectady as a child and was a 1949 graduate of Nott Terrace High School. She worked for many years at the General Electric Company as a clerk in the Gas Turbine Department. She enjoyed outdoor activities, especially boating and camping on Lake George, downhill skiing and traveling around the world. She loved parties and all social gatherings with family and her many friends. Nancy will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Her life was extended and enriched by her loving caregivers Joanne, Amina, Carol, Michelle, Carole, Ruth, Bobbie, and Chrissie. Laurie and Rob wish to express their gratitude to Susan Daly for her lifelong support of the Czaban family. Nancy married the love of her life in 1954, Lawrence Czaban; he died in 2018. She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Ann Schraver (Steve Chesbro), “number one grandson” Robert L. Schraver (Christine Borst), two nephews Joe Cardinal (Leslie), Jack Cardinal (Kathy) two great-nieces and a great-nephew. Funeral service will be Tuesday afternoon 2:30 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Those attending from the area may gather in the Daly Funeral Home parking lot at 1:15 Tuesday, to leave for the cemetery at 1:30. Calling hours will be Monday evening 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. It is requested that no flowers be sent. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lake George Assoc., 2392 State Rt. 9N, Box 408, Lake George, NY 12845. Masks are required for all attending the calling hours and the funeral service, per the family’s request.
