Obituary of Sharon Edwards

"Those, to whom we say farewell, are welcomed by others." Sharon Edwards, loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend was welcomed into the arms of God on April 1, 2011. Born and educated in Ithaca, New York, she was the daughter of the late James Buddy Peterson and Katie Pearl Briggs. Sharon moved to Schenectady in the early 80s and raised her children, she taught them strength and perseverance against all odds. Sharon is blessed and God was always with her. She is, and always will be a magnificently strong and loving human being who has had a positive effect on everyone she has met. She never failed to help someone in need no matter what the circumstances. Sharon is survived by her loving children, Rana Sawyer, Kim Sawyer and fiance, David James, Csiko Sawyer and wife, Carrin, Tamica Sawenko, Tanyetta Jackson and husband, Patrick Bergin, their two children Alika and Ajani, Norman Edwards and partner, Benny Simms. Twenty-three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nine brothers and sisters and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends also survive Sharon. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial service, celebrating the wonderful life of Sharon on April 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Daly Funeral Home. 242 McClellan Street.
